You can have herpes without symptoms!

Herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2.

Symptoms of herpes can include:

• Itchy painful blisters and sores usually on the penis, vulva, mouth, anus or eye
• Both herpes type 1 and herpes type 2 can infect any area of the body

If you have these symptoms after sexual contact with a partner you should test for STDs.
If you are sexually active with a partner who's history is unknown you should test for STDs.
If you have any doubts after sex, even if you have NO symptoms, you should test for STDs.
